Story

I’m walking for our three angel babies and all of the other babies taken too soon.

When I look at the two beautiful little humans Andrew Alan Turnbull and I have made, I am overwhelmed with love, pride and gratitude. I am so grateful to be their Mummy. They are and always will be the biggest and best achievement and opportunity of my life.

But before our gorgeous pair arrived, there were three little babies who were so loved and so desperately wanted who became stars in the sky before we got the chance to meet them. It took me a long time to discuss this with anyone other than a very special group of people who helped me to get through the hardest time in my life. But the more you speak to people, the more you realise how many people are part of one of the worst clubs in the world.

We don’t know why we lost our babies and we never will but I hope, as research advances, that fewer families have to live through that pain and grief. That’s why this December, I’m going to be walking 25 miles to fundraise for Sands, the stillbirth & neonatal death charity, who provide support for anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth, whenever this happened and for as long as they need it.

I’ve made my target £200 as this will provide a bereavement box for 10 families. I would be truly grateful for any donations, if you’re in a position to do so.

My inbox is open to anyone who has or is experiencing loss. And if anyone wants to message/comment the name of their angel baby, I’ll walk for them, as well as my own.

Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

We depend on the amazing energies of our supporters to raise the vital funds that we need to deliver the wide range of services that we offer. #TeamSands
