Story

Penumbra Mental Health is a pioneering charity providing a range of supports across Scotland. We support people on their journey to better mental health and wellbeing, by working with each person to find their own way forward.

The power of people’s lived experience enables Penumbra to provide pioneering services which transform lives. From being there for people in crisis to suicide prevention, supported living to self-harm management. Peer Support is the core of what we do in Dundee and we are privileged to have been at the forefront of Peer Support developments in the city.

Penumbra Power will be taking part in this year's Kilt Walk to raise funds for our fabulous teams in Dundee. I have had the privilege of working across Penumbra's Dundee services for almost 18 years now 🙈 Managing our community based Services for almost a decade, to overseeing the team at Hope Point as we launched this much anticipated support in 2023.

Our amazing team continue to exceed expectations and the kindness and compassion they show on a daily basis is exceptional.

As we all know, budgets in social care are tight, so I would love to raise funds to go towards staff wellbeing activities to support the team to continue to do the incredible (and sometimes very difficult) job that they do ❤️

My 8 year old spurred me on to sign up this year so we'll be completing this challenge together, with our Hope Point mascot Dave the Highland Cow in tow too 😂 Your support would be much appreciated! Emma x
