Story
Paws for Pregnancy Loss 2026
I’ll openly admit that I ashamedly knew very little about miscarriages. While I was, of course, aware of what they are, I didn’t realise the devastating impact they can have on a family until our family suffered the loss of a little bundle of joy who was not ready for this world.
While miscarriage is one of the most common kinds of pregnancy loss, affecting around one in four pregnancies, it still seems to be a silent loss. It’s a loss that isn’t openly spoken about, And while I felt the grief it would be nothing compared to what my sister was feeling, and as I held her hand at times, I was left wondering what I could say and how I could help. While all the focus is of course on the mother currently, we must also not forget that the father is also experiencing the loss too.
Sid and I are taking part in Paws for Pregnancy Loss 2026, and while this is really a call for sponsorship for Sid to walk 100 km in March — and we would like to raise as much money as possible — we also hope that even if you can’t sponsor us, it will spark a conversation in the office, at home, or with friends. We want to help break the silence around miscarriages and encourage people to talk. And of course you are welcome to join us on a walk. Please click the link below if you would like to sponsor Sid. Thank you!
