Story
Running a marathon has been on my bucket list for a long time, and now that I have turned 55, I have decided it is finally time to do it!
I’m running the London Marathon for Swings & Smiles, an incredible local charity that supports children with disabilities and their families through every stage of their journey. Based in West Berkshire, Swings & Smiles provides a safe, inclusive and welcoming space where children can play freely, enjoy specialist sensory facilities, build confidence and form friendships without barriers or judgement. The charity also offers vital respite, youth clubs, sibling support and opportunities for parents to connect with others who truly understand their challenges. For many families, Swings & Smiles is a lifeline—a place of joy, understanding and belonging.
As the charity relies on fundraising to keep its doors open, any donation you can provide will help ensure more families experience these moments of joy and support. I managed 18 miles on my last training run, so I am hopefully on track to complete the marathon.
Thank you for helping me make every mile count.
