Story
I'm taking part in this year’s Big Marathon Month by Emmaus. I’ll be completing at least 26.2 miles of litter picking across May to raise funds and awareness for people who have experienced homelessness, while also focusing on the positive impact movement can have on our own wellbeing.
For many people facing homelessness, the challenges go far beyond not having a safe place to stay. In England alone, 82% of people experiencing homelessness have a mental health diagnosis, compared to around 12% of the general population.
Emmaus is a movement of communities that empowers people to overcome homelessness by providing more than just a home. They offer a life-changing package of tailored support.
Through one-to-one support, skills development, training and work experience, Emmaus helps people rebuild confidence and achieve their goals.
All funds raised will support Emmaus’ mission to end homelessness for as many people as possible, in a sustainable way.
I've chosen litter picking as Brighton's got a litter problem. We've also got a homelessness crisis. Help me tackle two problems at once - anything you can donate helps. 🙏
