Birthday Head Shave for RWoB! · 17 February 2024

RWoB was set up in 2003 by a group of refugee women. They identified a number of common challenges in settling in to their new life in the UK regardless of where they came from. RWoB is directly governed by women of the refugee and asylum seeking community in Bristol.

Story

In celebration of my 30th birthday and to continue my yearly birthday tradition of giving back, I'm raising money to support the amazing work done by the Bristol-based charity Refugee Women of Bristol (RWoB).

RWoB provides advice, information, and support focused on advancing education, relieving poverty, and promoting and protecting the health of refugee women and those seeking asylum in Bristol and the surrounding areas.

RWoB is the only multi-ethnic, multi-faith organisation that specifically targets the needs of refugee women in Bristol, and is directly governed by women of the refugee and asylum-seeking community. They provide services to disenfranchised groups over and above the generic category of ‘refugee’, and routinely reach cohorts of women that other service providers overlook or are unable to access.

Please donate in lieu of birthday presents/cards and give however much you feel comfortable - or shave alongside me! Thank you xx
