Story
I've spent a lot of time visiting loved ones at St Luke's Hospice this past year. First with my Auntie Chrissie (who sadly passed in December), and with my Dad who spent a month in St Luke's before sadly passing on May 25th 2025.
It truly is a wonderful place. It was the happiest I'd seen my Auntie during her illness, and a place that managed to keep my Dad calm and peaceful at a time where that seemed harder and harder to achieve.
My Mum and I joke that there must be an initiation to work at St Luke's that checks for loveliness, because it really does feel like that. The team not only treated my Dad as human, but they took their time to get to know me and my family, and we have been offered bereavement counseling since his passing.
St Luke's are always to expanding their services to provide better and more specialised care. Currently, they are hoping to extend their dementia services and, whilst my Dad did not have dementia, I would like to support their efforts to say thank you for the wonderful care they gave to him, my Auntie and my family.
I'll be doing a tandem skydive on 19th July to raise funds. It's something I would have happily left off my bucket list, but I doubted I'd get any donations unless it was something like this! Please do donate all you can! Note my cover is an AI image, not the actual image of my jumping. I will share those once I have them!
