Story
We are part of the London Group Finance team at Aviva and are spending one of our volunteering days helping DABD - Enabling Independence, a charity in working in Barking and Dagenham to support adults and children with additional needs to live more independently. This could be through financial guidance (e.g. understand available benefits) or through practical support, such as their dial-a-ride service and their children's summer camps.
On our volunteering day we will we be helping at their SEND children's centre in Pembroke Gardens, putting up perimeter fencing, painting the fencing and cleaning up the children's playground and the main building. This is to prepare the area for the children arriving in the school holidays for the summer camps.
In order to do this, the charity has asked us to help contribute to the fencing panels, wood stains and some new plants for the centre which is why we are asking for some donations in order to take some of the financial burden off the charity.
We really appreciate any support you can give, especially as Aviva match donations up to £1000. If you would prefer not to donate but still want to get involved you could join us on our next volunteering event, we will try to host them throughout the year.
