Story

About Asher

Asher was born 10 weeks early with three holes in his heart. After multiple operations, he fought bravely back to good health. However, at just 8 months old, he was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a general term describing conditions that cause movement problems. Spastic cerebral palsy is where the muscles are stiff and rigid in one or more limbs in Ashers case quadriplegic means that all four limbs are affected. The underlying problem is damage to, or faulty development of part of the brain, In some cases there are also associated problems such as learning difficulties.

Why We’re Fundraising

This year, I’m taking on a HYROX event—not just as a personal challenge, but to make a meaningful difference for Asher.

As his carer, I see firsthand how hard he works every single day to do things most of us never have to think twice about. Despite it all, he is full of personality, strength, determination, and is truly the coolest 13-year-old I know!

A new power chair would make a huge impact on his life. It would give him greater independence, more comfort, and the freedom to move confidently through his world.

We are aiming to raise £10,770 through the Tree of Hope charity to fund the base of a specialist power chair—an essential but expensive piece of equipment that isn’t fully covered elsewhere. Tree of Hope will collect all donations and use them directly to pay for the equipment Asher needs.

This power chair will give him the ability to explore, participate, and enjoy everyday experiences that many of us take for granted.

How You Can Help

HYROX is known for being tough—but it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by children with mobility limitations. By supporting this fundraiser, you will be helping to give Asher the tools he needs to live life on his own terms.

Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means the world too.
