Story

On June 1, I'll be tackling the Mighty Stride at Aberdeen Kiltwalk - an 18 mile walk from Banchory to Aberdeen - to raise funds for Aberdeen Arts Centre.

The Arts Centre is a place close to my heart - I've worked on shows there for many years, seen some truly outstanding productions, and now am lucky enough to be part of the team that promotes all the amazing things the Centre does.

Over 35 local performing groups call Aberdeen Arts Centre home - and we regularly have local casts of up to 200 gracing the stage of our 350-seat auditorium, as well as welcoming professional touring companies from all over the world.

As well as our auditorium and ground-breaking Children's Theatre, Aberdeen Arts Centre provides a range of accessible and inclusive creative learning classes for all ages - including drama, storytelling, creative writing, illustration and mixed media art. We also run an artist development programme, providing a place for local professional creatives to develop their craft. And the Centre is home to a number of community groups - including GREC's Language Cafe and the Granite City Speakers Club.

What many people don't realise is that Aberdeen Arts Centre is a charity, and we can only keep promoting the arts in the north east of Scotland with the support of the public. So please dig deep and help keep the arts alive in Aberdeen.
