ePac's Philanthropy Advisory Group has a focus this quarter on the Earth and Environment, and with this we have selected Project Waterfall for our charity efforts. Project Waterfall brings clean drinking water, sanitation, and education to coffee-growing communities including Nicaragua, Tanzania, Rwanda, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

Most of us are quite fortunate that we live in areas in which clean drinking water is within reach, but for a large portion of our world, drinking water must be carried from the source into the home by physical means. When you bring clean water into a community, it changes everything - mortality rates drop, children are able to go back to school, and communities get closer to being restored. Let’s take the opportunity this Earth day to get outside, get moving, and give the gift of cleaner water for all.

Our event will be focused on getting our internal groups together to join in on a distance relay/ “virtual” 5K, with proceeds benefiting the charity. This event invites you to walk a mile in the shoes of those that do not have accessible clean water. We will be sending our global team members a link to a fundraising page where we hope to together raise at least $5k (USD) to donate to Project Waterfall. The event will begin on earth day, April 22nd and run through May 14th. Donations will be reflective of “Allegra Foundation” on your financial statement. You can choose to participate in your respective plants/groups or as an individual and it is not required that you donate in order to participate. The health and safety of our employees is of the utmost importance so please participate in the virtual 5K at a level that you are most comfortable with.

Donations can be made via this platform JustGiving, which provides payment directly to Project Waterfall. As mentioned, we encourage you to donate what you are able, with no minimum requirements to participate. If you would like your donation to be linked to your plant, include your ePac location in your donation description.
