Ewan, Rory and Alec’s fundraiser for Kidneys for Life

AJ Bell Junior Great Manchester Run · 17 May 2025
Ewan, Rory and Alec are taking on the AJ Bell Junior Great Manchester Run, raising money for the amazing Kidneys For Life!
Rory was born with a condition called PUV which affects only 1 in 8000 boys. A shout out to my boy for smashing his condition everyday! The things he has to do, catheterising through a stoma, daily medication, daily and monthly injections, regular appointments, tests and 18 operations (and counting) including a kidney transplant, that no child should ever have to put up with, all caused by this little valve! But he deals with it so well, and rarely to I hear the words ‘why me?’- when I question that myself most days ‘why him?’
Ewan and Alec are the most supportive brothers ever! Ewan helps carry him around on days out, Alec alerts us if he is poorly in the night, and the 2 of them are the visitors Rory most looks forward to seeing when he’s in hospital, cheering him up and getting him through!
Keep smashing it boys!! We are so incredibly proud of you every single day!! 💪🙌🌟
A large number of the population have chronic kidney disease and this is only going to get worse. Whilst it is more likely to affect you when you get older, all ages are at risk and can develop kidney failure needing dialysis and possibly a kidney transplant. Kidney’s For Life are looking for kidneys to last a lifetime with their research.
This charity has helped our family so much over the years, and we continue to try and help them help others as much as we can with our fundraising!
