There are 82 islands around the GB which are greater than 5km2 in size. Starting at St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly at the end of May, I shall be traveling to all the islands ending at Unst in the Shetlands by the end of August

To make it interesting, I will be travelling by public transport - bus/boat and running at least 10km on each

I am a member of Midshires Search and Rescue - MSAR and am raising money for this voluntary group

MSAR is available 24/7 and assists the police to locate missing and vulnerable persons in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. It is very busy at times!

MSAR is a member unit of the UK’s Lowland Rescue service, alongside Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue, the RNLI and Volunteer Coastguard. It is run totally by volunteers, and running costs are entirely met by donations and fundraising activities.
