Taff Trail walk · 21 June 2025

Cure EB (formerly the Sohana Research Fund) exists to find a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa- a very painful genetic skin blistering condition that leads to malignant skin cancer in young adulthood.

Story

Calum and I will be joining our family, friends and colleagues on a 55mile walk in 24 hours along the taff train in aid of Cure EB. Cure EB is a charity that funds research for Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa, the genetic condition that affects our gorgeous, cheeky little boy Albi 🦋

Money raised is vital to finding life changing treatments and hopefully genetic cures in near future.

🦋We would love for as many people to get involved, If you’d like to join us on the walk please text Ceri on 07813776702🦋

This year on 21st June -Team Albi are taking on the challenge of walking the full length of the Taff Trail (55miles) in under 24 hours to raise funds for CURE EB.

Team Albi consists of a big group of family and friends all wanting to support this incredible charity which raises vital funds for research projects and clinical trials with the goal of finding a cure for those living with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa like Albi.

100% of the funds raised will go to research

Albi was born with Severe Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB - GS). This is an extremely rare and incredibly painful genetic skin disease; the slightest knock or friction caused by normal everyday activities will cause the skin to blister and/or shear. EB effects Albi both internally and externally meaning blisters also form on his eyes, mouth and esophagus. Without a cure those with severe forms of EB are at a high risk of developing an aggressive form of skin cancer - Squamous cell carcinoma (typically in their 20s) which is usually fatal. Being such a rare genetic disease raising awareness and helping to fund research and trials is critical to stop the pain that Albi and others born with EB live with every day.
