Hi, my name is Erin and I’m running a 10K for the British Liver Trust.

My boyfriend Noah, lives with a long-term health condition called Autoimmune Hepatitis. This is a rare and lifelong autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system attacks its own healthy liver cells, leading to inflammation and damage, in Noah’s case, Cirrhosis. Noah’s AIH is severe, and this means that a liver transplant will be necessary in the future.

Despite these challenges, if you met Noah, you probably wouldn’t know what he lived with. Honestly if he was any more laid back he’d be horizontal. That being said, it isn’t easy living with an illness that has no cure. Endless appointments, blood tests, toxic medications, and not being allowed to have a drink at 22 isn’t fun. Noah has done so much for me, I can’t even begin to explain. Even when he’s not well or during a hospital stay, he still manages to make me laugh even though I’m worried half to death. He makes me feel so loved and appreciated, this is my small way of giving back to him and other people living with AIH.

That’s why I’m raising money for the British Liver Trust. This organization plays a vital role in improving liver health by raising awareness about diseases affecting the liver, providing essential information and support for those impacted by liver conditions, and advocating for earlier detection and better treatment options. They collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance standards of liver care across the country while actively funding research into liver-related conditions.

I am participating in the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run 10K on May 18th, 2025, with a target of raising £300 for the British Liver Trust.
