Story
Oldham Street Angels have been operating in Oldham town centre for several years. All staff members work on a voluntary basis to make Oldham town centre a safer place. Notably, Street Angels provide a safe place for often vulnerable people struggling to acquire basics like food and clothing. I work closely with them in my role at Turning Point and am constantly astounded by their unwavering support for our clients. The volunteers provide a non-judgmental and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees and do so without any expectation of praise. Whilst attending their lunch drop in on Wednesday afternoon, I was astounded to learn that the organisation relies largely on individual donations and often get by on a weekly basis. So, I have decided to run the Manchester 10k in support of this beautiful organisation. It would mean the world to me if you could contribute in anyway! Every time I attend Street Angels, I leave having had great conversation, lots of brews and lots of laughter. Oldham Street Angels change lives everyday, offering a slice of belonging and care to those largely on the outskirts of society. Thank you Street Angels!
