Story
In memory of Dorothy Brock.
In the lead up to Dorofest 2023 (March 23rd fundraising Festival at Saltmarket social), Thomas wanted to walk Hadrians Wall to raise money. Erin decided to tag along.
Bladder cancer is not a rare cancer - it is of the ten most common cancers in the UK - that's 4% of all new cases.
Over 20,000 people are diagnosed each year, and many of those will die. Despite this, there is very limited public awareness of the disease and it is a low priority on the public health agenda. Treatments have changed very little over the past 30 years and research is seriously underfunded. Bladder cancer has been called a 'Cinderella' cancer. ABC UK is dedicated to changing this and to giving bladder cancer patients a voice.
