The London Marathon is one of the world’s most iconic and prestigious running events, attracting thousands of runners from all over the globe.

Story

PlayStation will kindly match funds raised so a target of £1250 will mean £2500 raised 😊

I’ve done a crazy thing and jumped at the opportunity to run the London Marathon with just over five weeks notice to train and pull this out the bag! Two things made that decision super easy for me to say ‘yes, I’ll do it!’:

1. As a keen (but sometimes lazy) runner, I’ve always wanted to run the most iconic marathon, in a city that I have been lucky enough to call home for the last 13 years.

2. The charity that I have the opportunity to raise money for is changing the lives of young people, providing them with the financial support and tools to access the careers and job opportunities that they are capable of - but otherwise might not have pursued due to upfront costs. Without this support from the Kings Trust, young people from less privileged or financially secure backgrounds could miss out on seeking job opportunities and careers that they dream of fulfilling. Allowing young people to get started and take control of their lives seemed like it was very worthy of an intense five week marathon training schedule!

The money raised by taking on this challenge and fundraising for The King’s Trust will make a positive difference for young people across the UK:

- £40 could provide a young person in poverty with interview clothes to help them secure stable employment

- £100 could cover the cost of essential equipment a young entrepreneur needs to launch their business

- £500 could support up to 10 young people to travel to work before their first pay cheque, unlocking and sustaining inspiring careers

Thank you for any support and funds you can help provide!
