We have chosen Action Mental Health as charity for our jump as they help everyone from young children right up to elderly .

We all know someone in our lives who has been affected by mental health one way or another from family to even friends and most of the time its something that never gets talked about and sometimes its even to late when find out things have been affecting someone.

So here is a few facts about Action Mental Health

Action Mental Health helps people all over Northern Ireland

Approximately One in Five adults in Northern Ireland exhibit signs of mental illness.

When compared to 17 other countries, Northern Ireland has the second-highest rates of mental ill-health.

The prevalence of mental illness in Northern Ireland is 25% higher than in England.

Nearly 50% of long-term absences from work are due to mental health issues.

Northern Ireland has catastrophic levels of mental ill health.

Suicides from the start of 1998 to 2016 reached more than 4,400 in the 18 years an average of 244 a year

80% of women have no access to specialist maternal mental health services compared to 40% in Scotland and England, and 70% in Wales.

Action Mental Health impacts the community by challenging mental health stigma and promoting resilience. They engage with people in work, the unemployed, and those affected by chronic pain or long-term illnesses.
