In memory of Dr Raj Parkianathan

A number of fundraising events throughout the year

The mission of Nelson’s Journey is to increase the self-esteem, self-belief and wellbeing of bereaved children in Norfolk, by enabling families and wider society to talk openly about death and bereavement, and for children to express and understand emotions.

Story

Nelson‘s Journey supports children and young people in Norfolk who’ve experienced the death of a significant person. Since 1997, Nelson’s Journey has helped thousands of bereaved children and young people in the county.

It is only thanks to the tremendous support of fundraisers that our work is possible.

On 21st January 2025 we lost a very dear friend and colleague, Dr Raj Parkianathan. Throughout 2026 staff and service users at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust will be fundraising for Nelson’s Journey, a charity that has supported Raj's family.

We will be holding a number of fundraising events throughout the year, the plan so far is as follows:

* February - Bake Sale

* March - Pennies From Heaven Box

* April - 1/2 Marathon

* May - Coastal Walk

* June - Macrame Hanging Plant Pots

* July - Crochet Amigurumi

* August - Mount Project

* September - Sponsored Walk

* October - Learn a Skill

* November - Smartie Challenge

* December - Christmas Raffle & Mince Pies
