This November, I am running the Battersea Half Marathon to support Start Young UK's 2025 Christmas Gifting Campaign.

I've done some volunteering with the charity this year, and have seen just how passionate and committed the team is to making a difference for young people from underserved communities.

The charity started in East London in 2020, and has since expanded its services across the UK, offering mentorship, educational and community support programmes.

Through their Christmas Gifting Initiative, Start Young provides winter essentials and care parcels for young people and families in need across East London, during the festive season.

Last year, they delivered over 700 gifts and care parcels, supporting 120 families from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, and over 30 people from East Ham Homeless Unit.

They are raising funds to provide:

- Winter essentials (gloves, scarves, socks, underwear)

- Food hampers and festive treats

- Personal care and hygiene items
