As an update my marathon has shifted from the Valencia Marathon to the Rannock marathon 12/10/25, from Spain to Scotland.

Racing Welfare is a registered charity supporting and offering guidance and help to current and retired racing staff and their families – including stud, stable, and racecourse staff, alongside those working in associated professions – whose dedication is vital for the wellbeing of racing. The vision is that all Racing’s people feel supported and have the opportunity to thrive. The work of racing welfare is dependent on donations and successful fundraising events.

I have been volunteering with racing welfare for almost 2 years now and see first hand the hard work the team at racing welfare put in to providing the support required to those that need it. This is why I have chosen to do my bit for the charity and do something outside my comfort zone (however hopefully within my capabilities) and run a marathon. I couldn’t take too much of a risk with the UK weather so I will be jetting off to Valencia instead. The joyful day is Sunday 1st December 2024. For anyone wishing to support me in person you should know Valencia is not the easiest or cheapest place to get to at that time of year.
