A walk with families doing 21 laps of our local park · 27 February 2025

Group B Strep is the leading cause of severe infection in newborn babies including sepsis, meningitis and pneumonia. Charity Group B Strep Support provides support for families, improves awareness, educates health professionals and campaigns for better prevention.

Story

Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months.

When Erin Morton, Emma Filiks 1st baby, was born she had Strep B and sadly did not survive.

She would have been 21 years old this year so we want to raise money for the charity that is looking for ways to prevent this happening from other families as well as supporting them through grief.

We are going to be challenging families to make 21 laps with their families between now and the 27th February (Erin's 21st) . To celebrate the completion of this, on 27th Feb at 10.30am,we will be doing a celebratory lap in fancy dress in Erin's honor
