This year, we’re taking it to the next level — we’ve signed up to run in firefighting kit. That means carrying the weight of firefighting gear, just like the brave firefighters we’re supporting. It’s heavy, and it’s a stark reminder of the real challenges those heroes face every day.

We want to pay our heartfelt tributes to firefighters who cannot be with us today. Their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their memory inspires us as we take on this challenging race in their honor.

We, Shaun Steadman, Dan Brooks, Joel Bandle, and Shailan Chudasama, are proud to represent East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, based at Heathfield Fire Station. We’re committed to making this a race to remember — not just for ourselves, but to raise awareness and support for our firefighters. This isn’t just about finishing; it’s about showing true resilience in the face of adversity.
