ESMS Junior School West Highland Way Challenge - fundraiser for Spartans Community Foundation

Mairi Grant is raising money for Spartans Community Foundation

West Highland Way - 70km · 7 May 2026

We aspire to be a valued organisation that helps to improve the quality of people’s lives in a meaningful way, with love, compassion and dignity at the heart of our approach. We strive for our impact to be both positive and enduring. In short, we are “Here for good”.

Story

36 unstoppable 11-year-olds are taking on an extraordinary challenge - walking approximately 70km of the iconic West Highland Way over 3 days - to support a charity that is genuinely transforming lives.

They are walking for The Spartans Community Foundation, a truly exceptional organisation at the heart of North Edinburgh. Spartans isn’t just a charity - it’s a lifeline. Every day, they create safe, supportive spaces where young people can learn, grow, belong and achieve things they never thought possible.

Spartans Community Foundation delivers life-changing youth work, innovative education programmes, and community activities that are free or affordable for everyone. From alternative schooling for those who need a fresh start, to dedicated youth workers in local schools, to fitness, wellbeing and inclusive sports sessions for all ages and abilities - Spartans makes sure no one is left behind.

Every pound goes straight back into the community, multiplying the impact and helping even more people build brighter futures.

Spartans leads with love, compassion and dignity. They are 'here for good' - and their impact is felt every single day.

Your support will help them continue changing lives.

Back these amazing children - and the incredible charity they’re walking for - every step of the way!
