Ride + Stride is an annual event during which our supporters raise money for BHCT and for their own church by cycling, riding or walking between any number of our beautiful churches and chapels. BHCT uses half of the money raised to fund vital repairs to roofs and fabric while the other half is returned to the participating churches to help with their own maintenance.

My aim is to walk with my dog Angus to visit all the churches and chapels in the Claydon villages (about 7 miles). Starting at The Methodist Chapel and St. Michael's church in Steeple Claydon, then across the fields to All Saints, Middle Claydon. We then go on to the chapel in Botolph Claydon and finally walking to St. Mary's at East Claydon.

I am raising the money towards the repair of St. Mary's tower roof which is suffering from rotten timbers and is in serious danger of collapse. To the extent that we are no longer able to ring our fine peal of bells.

The urgent repairs will cost £110,000, after much fundraising by the community we now need the last £5000 to be able to carry these out. This is on top of the usual repairs needed to a 12th century building!
