Story
To celebrate my 18th Birthday, my Mum suggested I do something memorable and challenging...and suggested a tandem skydive!
I was nervous at the thought of it but when she suggested doing it as a fundraising event to support a charity, I thought it could be a good way to motivate me to overcome my nerves and do the jump.
When we looked at who we could fundraise for, I liked the sound of 'Abigail's Footsteps' because they help families who have babies who are born sleeping or die shortly afterwards.
I have 8 cousins and a sister and couldn't imagine my family being complete without any of them in it, so I want to use my 18th Birthday to help families who aren't as lucky as I am.
I've set myself a target of £3,000 because that's enough to buy a hospital 'Cold Cot' which keeps a baby's body at a cool temperature so families have more time to say a proper goodbye to their baby than they could do if they didn't have a special Cold Cot.
I know it's a lot of money to raise, but I think having a 'Cold Cot' to use would really help all the families who will sadly need to use one in the future, so my Mum and I are going to do everything we can to raise all of the £3,000 before I do my skydive on 30 September.
I know lots of things are really expensive at the moment but if you would like to support me and could possibly donate even the smallest amount of money I'd be so happy. If you know me well and would normally buy me a Birthday present, please donate instead. And if, like me, you have brothers and sisters and cousins you love, please donate to help me find the courage to jump out of that plane when I turn 18 in September!
Thank you, Ethan
