New Life Special Care Babies provides much needed equipment to help the lives of sick and premature babies. The equipment they provide really makes a massive difference to little lives. Events like the Sportathon bring so many of us together, allowing us to unite and raise significant funds for this incredible cause.

I will be taking part in the Sportathon for the first time this year as I've been challenged to swim a mile, which I have accepted, and I'll be trying to do it in under 30 minutes. I'm 10 years old and have recently joined Newbury District Swimming Club, but have never swam this sort of distance in one go before.

Any donations, however small, would be very welcome.
