Story

On the 3rd May 2026 I will be running the Birmingham Half Marathon to raise money to benefit the amazing Headway Black Country, in memory of my Uncle Ian.

Unfortunately, earlier this year we lost Ian after a long period of ill health following a brain hemorrhage he suffered back in 2019. Ian was an incredibly funny and caring person who was a fantastic character to be around.

After his brain injury and the treatments he had to undergo, Ian’s quality of life was never quite the same and that had a huge impact on him personally. This is where Headway Black Country came in, providing him with critical information and amazing support services to help him get back to living his life independently and also supporting our family through the process.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean a lot to me and will go directly towards supporting others who, like Ian, are rebuilding their lives after brain injury. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would also make a huge difference. Your support will help Headway Black Country continue the incredible work they do for individuals and families when they need it most.

Thank you.
