Tracey and I are thrilled to take on the Santa Dash! While we often joke that our only reason to run is to catch the train, this time we’re stepping out for two causes close to our hearts. If you know us, you know how significant this challenge is for us! 😂 .

✨ Our first cause, Unity Sisters, is a peer group for refugee and asylum-seeking women. They provide crucial support in finding safety, building community, and fostering new beginnings. We have create another page for this (justgiving rules 🫠).

✨ Our second cause is the Gaza Soup Kitchen, a grassroots, volunteer-driven charity dedicated to providing free, nutritious meals to families in Gaza. Built on principles of dignity, community care, and mutual support, the kitchen prepares daily meals for displaced families, elders, children, and anyone in need—no questions asked.

The Gaza Soup Kitchen, founded by brothers Mahmoud and Hani Almadhoun, started as a small volunteer effort, using wood fires and limited ingredients to feed families displaced by the ongoing siege. Over time, it evolved into a vital community lifeline, serving thousands of meals each day. In November 2024, co-founder and head chef Mahmoud was killed in a drone strike by the israeli occupation, while delivering produce to a hospital. This devastating loss deeply affected the community but also strengthened the team’s resolve. Today, the kitchen continues in his spirit, guided by the powerful motto he left behind: “Mostamreen” — we will continue.
