Story

In support of Jasper Dix & The Brain Tumour Charity, some of The Perse School Staff will be running the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 8th March 2026.

Jasper is a former pupil at The Perse, and was Head of School in the Sixth Form. He also returned to teach for a year from 2021 to 2022.

Please read Jasper’s story below. Any donation would be very welcome.

“In December of 2024, following a couple of epileptic seizures, I was diagnosed with a grade 4 astrocytoma which has a typical prognosis of 1-5 years. I was expedited into surgery on New Year's eve and then began 9 months of treatment which included radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

As a result, I began thinking of ways to simultaneously connect with my many friends and raise money for a good cause. Therefore, I will be walking the Thames Path National trail in May 2026 over three weeks to fundraise for the Brain Tumour Charity. I am grateful for any and all donations no matter how big or small.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Your donation will help them find new treatments, offer the highest level of support and drive urgent change.”
