Climb 'The Nose' for International Womens+ Day 2023

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

Climb El Capitan with us in honour of International Women’s Week!

Yep, you read that right. Next week we’re bringing Yosemite’s famous El Capitan to EustonWall. Well, sort of…

We’re celebrating International Women’s Week in style, with a week-long challenge that pays homage to iconic climber Lynn Hill, the first climber ever to scale El Capitan’s infamous ‘The Nose’.

From 6th-12th of March we’ll be attempting to scale the 880m that Lynn covered on ‘The Nose’ on three separate blocs, each set by our female setters.

Everyone’s invited to get involved. The blocs will be graded V1, V3 (on the kilter board) and V5 and all you need to do is log your climb on Griptonite (one top allowed per climber) to add your metres towards our target.

That’s not all either. Whether you’re climbing the blocs or simply there to cheer others on, we’d love you to make a donation to our team’s nominated charity Beat, who’s fantastic work supports those affected by eating disorders.

So, join us in celebrating an iconic climber, while raising money and doing what we all love, climbing! We’ll see you there.
