On the 4th of October 2026, myself and my friend Isla will be taking part in the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run Half Marathon to raise funds for WMUK, the only UK charity dedicated exclusively to supporting people affected by Waldenström’s macroglobulinaemia (WM), a rare type of blood cancer.

The inspiration behind this challenge is that my mum was diagnosed with waldenstrom macroglobulinemia (WM) in August last year. This came as complete shock to myself and all our family. Thankfully WMUK, was there to support us all while we navigated what it would mean for my mum, and for us a family. WMUK’s vision is for everyone living with WM to have a long and good quality of life, supported at every stage. They provide expert information, fund vital research, and offer personal support to help patients and their loved ones live well with this condition.

By taking on the Half Marathon challenge I hope to raise both funds and awareness for about Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, and the impact it has on those affected by the diagnosis. My dad and younger brothers (Max and Finn) will also be running on the day in support of this effort so we would appreciate any donations you could make to support us. Any donation at all would be greatly received to help WMUK help those affected, like my mum, with this rare blood cancer.
