This year I am joining Saint Catherine's for their sunrise walk in memory of my dear friend and colleague Louise.

Lou was the one to take me under her wing and train me in all aspects of cash and counter management when I first joined the bank 21 years ago. Lou always kept me organised! She encouraged me to have the confidence to seek more from me career and was the only person to endeavour to keep in touch with me when I changed branches to start my first management job.

I had the honour and privilege of becoming Lou's line manager about 6 years ago. Despite the change in our working dynamic, she was always there to assist me in finding errors and making things balance, and reminded myself and Jason to have lunch! On returning from her breaks she always had a mug of tea and a smile for us.

Lou was a constant source of strength and support through the changes I faced both professionally and personally, and I tried to return the favour throughout her illness. I will always miss her. The care she and her family relieved at Saint Catherine's was remarkable, which is why I am behind this cause.

We will be gathering on Sunday 29th of September, starting at Sea Life Centre Scarborough and walking along the North and South Bays to Scarborough Spa and back during sunrise, a total of around 10km.
