Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene are basic human rights. They should be a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere – but they aren't. That's why we're here. Only by tackling these three essentials in ways that last can people change their lives for good.

Story

Between New Year's Day and World Water Day (22 March) 2025, I am walking 250 kilometers and joining the Hardy Homeschool Co-op to bring safe water to people who need it so their kids can go to school.

Three simple ways to help:

1. DONATE. Can you pledge a dollar, dime, nickel, or penny for every kilometer I walk? Whether you can spare $5 or $500, your donation brings safe water to people who need it, keeping kids in school.

2. WALK. Set your own walking goal and solicit your own sponsors. Link them to this page to make their own donations on your behalf.

3. CELEBRATE. Join us at Victoria Sports Park in Raymond, Alberta on World Water Day, Saturday, 22 March 2025, at 11AM for a community walk for water. We'll walk our final kilometers, collect our last donations, and celebrate the water access and consequent opportunities we're expanding.

WaterAid Canada's Mission is to transform the lives of the poorest and most marginalized people by improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. With all three people can unlock their potential, break free from poverty, and change their lives for good. Children grow up healthy and strong, women and men get to earn a living, whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal, and it should be. Your support makes a lasting difference; together, we will change millions of lives for the better – and change normal.
