We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Story

🥰 RAISE MONEY FOR SHELTER WITH THE KINDNESS CHALLENGE 🥰

Evan Roth was one of the kindest people you would ever have had the good fortune of meeting. In announcing his death, I said that I wish we'd been able to bottle his kindness and share it around, because the world needs more of it. Now you can not only amp up the kindness in your own life, you can raise money for one of Evan's favourite charities too.

HERE'S HOW:

Please join me in a 30-day Kindness Challenge, facilitated by my very kind friend, Alison Cebulla. The rules -- which I've tweaked a bit for our purposes -- are as follows:

1. For 30 days , from July 15th to August 13th, you can’t say anything bad/negative about anyone, *including yourself*

2. You must tell people you’re doing this challenge.

3. If you slip up and say something negative, you owe whoever you’re talking to £1 on the spot -- pay yourself if you say something unkind when no one else is around!

4. Carry cash 💷 or send via BACS/Paypal.

5. At the end of 30 days, donate any money you paid yourself OR a minimum of £30 to Shelter. Evan was a regular donor and volunteered for several years in the Forrest Road shop in Edinburgh.

Mostly Evan was kind. He rarely had a negative word about anyone, and on the very unusual occasions when he lost his temper, it was clear that the transgressor had gone well beyond too far. Kindness is so underrated, and in his case was his frequently overlooked superpower. I wish he could have bottled that and shared it around, because the world so desperately needs more of it right now.
