Evelina is our little legend. She loves Spidey (and will test you on your knowledge of his friends!), playing music with her little sister Verity, doing science experiments, and making us all laugh with her talker – her eye-gaze communication device (thanks to the wonderful donations). She loves getting outside on her trike, walker and ‘spidey car’ and has a determination to take on the world in her own way. She loves being a little bit cheeky!

Evelina also has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a visual impairment, and is tube fed. Her body doesn’t always cooperate with her adventurous spirit, but that doesn’t stop her. She’s fiercely determined, but to access the life that every child deserves – one of play, fun, and family time – she needs the right adaptations and equipment to make the world around her more accessible.

Why We Are Fundraising

We're raising funds to provide Evelina with vital home and garden adaptations, along with essential equipment and therapies. These will empower her to continue growing, learning, and fully participate in every aspect of family life.

What Your Support Will Help With

Your generous donations will directly enable us to create a home and garden that meets Evelina's present and future needs:

- Garden Adaptations: Evelina loves being outdoors, whether she's using her walker, riding her specialist bike, or zooming around in her 'Spidey car'. Our current outdoor space limits her movement.

- Home Adaptations: Evelina's independence is paramount. We want her to safely access every part of our home. This requires adaptations that allow her to move around in her wheelchair, reach play areas, and freely spend time with her family.

- Specialist Equipment: As Evelina grows, her needs evolve. We want to invest in long-term solutions that ensure her dignity and comfort, rather than relying on temporary fixes.

- Dedicated Therapy & Equipment Space: Evelina needs daily therapy and uses various specialist equipment, including standing frames and positioning supports. A properly adapted space will allow her to do her exercises safely and comfortably.

- Climate Control: Evelina struggles to regulate her temperature due to her conditions. We need to ensure our home's shared spaces remain comfortable, so she isn't confined to her room when temperatures fluctuate.

- Hydrotherapy Pool: Hydrotherapy greatly eases Evelina's muscle tightness and pain. Having access to this therapy at home would allow her to benefit daily, eliminating the challenges of travel, waiting lists, and inaccessible facilities.

While we're eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG), it only covers the most basic, essential adaptations, sadly often without considering Evelina’s long-term needs or overall quality of life. After years of navigating complex bureaucracy, we've realised that achieving more than just 'the basics' for Evelina requires us to take action ourselves. Your generosity is crucial in making this happen.

More Than the Bare Minimum

Our family is contributing everything we can to these adaptations, therapies and experiences, but the costs are far beyond what we can manage alone. We don’t believe in ‘just enough to get by’ for our girls - we believe in giving Evelina the life she deserves. A life filled with independence, play, inclusion, and access to everything that any six-year-old would want to do with her family and friends.
