Story
Avon Valley Community Matters is a charity set up by Kate with the help of Church members from the Avon Valley Benefice to help reach those in our communities who need it most.
To date, they have funded various community outreach projects including free Picnics Together including art sessions, and Building Together programmes for families of all ages and abilities offering crafts, games, stories, songs and also provide a hot meal and pudding.
They also run a Friendship Group that meets at 10am on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at The Ship Inn on Fordingbridge High Street. This friendly group welcomes those who are lonely, isolated, bereaved or would just like a lovely cup of coffee and a chat.
AVCM also hosts a Miscarriage Support Group. This group warmly welcomes all those who have been through the trauma of miscarriage. Along with a choice of refreshments, we offer a safe space to share experiences if needed, information and most importantly support from others.
Most recently, AVCM recently opened a charity shop on the High Street in Fordingbridge to help raise funds for community outreach projects.
