Trek Kilimanjaro 2025
Campaign by Breakthrough T1D (RCN 295716)
At 5,895m, Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world! In October 2025, a team of Breakthrough T1D supporters will be taking on this incredible challenge and raising vital funds for research into type 1 diabetes.

Story

2025 is my “Year of Yes.” I’ve committed to saying yes to 25 experiences that I might never have found the time, opportunity, or chance to embrace. This climb is the most ambitious of them all, and the first time in 25 years I’ve taken on something like this.

In early October, I’ll set foot on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and spend 10 days trekking through rainforest, battling icy summit winds, and pushing myself through oxygen-thin air to stand on the roof of Africa.

But this journey isn’t about chasing a view.

It’s for the millions living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) — a relentless condition with no cure… yet.

I’m proud to support Breakthrough T1D, who fund groundbreaking research and provide life-changing support for the T1D community. They’re not just working toward better treatments, they’re fighting for a future free from T1D.

Every penny raised will go directly to Breakthrough T1D. The climb is entirely self-funded, so every donation you give will help move us closer to a cure.

How you can help:

Every step I take will be powered by those who believe we can change the future of T1D. Your support will be part of every metre I climb, right up to the summit.

Please donate today — and be part of the climb that could change lives.
