Walking London - Brighton in a day for Project Trust

Walk from London to Brighton · 1 July 2023
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! I'm taking a leisurely stroll from London to Brighton, in a day.
For those who aren't aware, I've spent the last few months on secondment from the Civil Service to a charity called Project Trust - a small organisation based on the Isle of Coll in the Hebrides.
Project Trust sends young people from the UK on 8-12 month educational placements. The charity has a meaningful impact both on its volunteers and the communities they partner with around the world. Following Covid and the cost-of-living crisis, PT is on a long road to recovery; your donations will help to make sure it stays on that road.
I do walk now and then - have done a bit of hiking in the past, and also tend to walk round the block to get a toastie or whatever, but this will be vastly different and likely poorly planned, with the additional burden of Will Oliver who's doing it with me (https://www.justgiving.com/page/will-oliver-1687284752499?utm_term=2VnQgbjZN).
It's about a 50 mile journey, which we're hoping can be done in ~16/17 hours. A major motivation will be getting a pint in before last orders at le pub (and before the last train back to London departs).
It's not an easy time for anyone financially, but whatever you can give will be massively appreciated by myself and those at PT. To further entice you:
- For £10 you can suggest a song which we'll play en route (just comment with the tune)
- £30 buys Oliver a minute-long piggyback from yours truly
- For £100k we'll do the whole thing backwards
