Cancer affects so many young people, and we need to be the ones to help make a change. It takes away the lives of so many young individuals before they can experience and live a full life.

I’ve had people close to me be diagnosed with cancer, and it’s a scary. Specifically, being told by my best mate, Jake. I remember him telling me and hearing that he had cancer was one of the most heartbreaking things I friend could hear. You immediately begin to think the worst and loose hope that you may never see them again. You begin to have sleepless nights, and have a constant worry looming over you. Your world crumbles completely.

Thankfully through the efforts of amazing hospital staff, as well as Young Lives VS Cancer my best friend was given the all clear. Knowing that one of the people you love the most is free from one of the most destructive of diseases is incredible. And I’m going to be forever thankful.

Charities like Young Lives VS Cancer give immense support to those who face the every day battle of cancer, bringing strength and courage to not only the ones diagnosed but the friends and family that surround them. Which is why I’ll be taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon along side Jake to help raise money for this incredible cause.
