Bryen has been a dedicated member of the Excelcare Family at Etheldred House for over 10 years. His connection to Etheldred runs deep, as his mother worked there in the home’s early years before her retirement, and his brother’s wife also served as a Team Leader before relocating to America. For Bryen, Etheldred is more than just a workplace—it's a huge part of his family.

Tragically, Bryen’s life was turned upside down last week. After finishing his night shift at Etheldred, he returned home to a devastating discovery. After receiving a message only 30 minutes before from his wife, Aprille, to say their daughter is not feeling well, Bryen found Aprille unresponsive in their bedroom. Despite his immediate efforts to save her and the paramedics’ best efforts, Aprille sadly passed away.

This heartbreaking loss leaves Bryen to navigate life without his beloved wife, as a single father to their three children, the youngest being just 10 years old, and the road ahead will be incredibly challenging. As a valued and long-serving member of the Etheldred House community, we are asking for support to help him and his family through this difficult time.
