They are a charity with the purpose of restoring the Caledonian Forest back to its former glory through rewilding efforts, as the forest now only covers a fraction of the area that it once did. This involves both replanting native species of trees, and efforts to reintroduce fauna that became extinct from the area. Ultimately, these efforts will go a long way to restoring the natural beauty of the Scottish wilderness, and increase the absorptive capacity of the forest to help offset carbon emissions.
