Well we did it! The fab four walked across the country with an ambition of raising funds for Beaumond House to purchase a cuddle bed. We are incredibly grateful for all the support and donations received so far! We are just about half way there (£5,630 as of 2/10/24) as we amend this page to a new total of £11,000, the cost of the bed.

A cuddle bed is a bed that can be extended providing the opportunity for people to comfortably lay with loved ones. These beds can provide comfort to both the patient and their loved ones supporting precious moments.

We have a number of ways which we will be continuing our fundraising efforts over the coming months. A huge thank you to everyone for all the support!

A bit more about the hospice...........

Beaumond House Hospice Care provide essential, personalised palliative care to people with life limiting or terminal illnesses in the Newark and Sherwood District.

This year, providing care and support to patients and their families is expected to cost Beaumond House a total of £2.2million.

Beaumond House will receive £531,000 towards the cost of delivering in-patient, day therapy and wellbeing service and hospice at home commissioned through the End of Life Together Alliance (funded from the Integrated Care System), which contributes to their overall operating costs.

Statutory funding contributes around 26% towards this, leaving £1.6million which will need to be raised through donations, shops, and support from local businesses throughout Newark and Sherwood.
