Story

Last year, I lost my dad, Patrick Dormeuil, a man whose presence could light up any room and whose kindness seemed endless. Dad had this incredible way of making everyone feel seen and heard. He laughed with his whole heart, listened without judgment, and shared his warmth so freely that anyone who met him couldn’t help but feel it.

But behind that light, there were real moments of struggle. Times when he needed help, and I didn’t know where to turn. That feeling of helplessness has stayed with me, but it’s also made me determined to make support more visible, accessible, and welcoming for the people who need it most, and the families who love them.

Why Cornwall Mind?

After a year of navigating grief, and still feeling the weight of it every day, I want to turn that experience into something positive: raising awareness and supporting people who need help with their mental health. Cornwall Mind offers counselling, wellbeing services, and community programs across Cornwall, helping people exactly when they need it.

Cornwall is where I grew up, and it has a truly special place in my heart. Supporting Cornwall Mind feels like a way to honour Dad, celebrating the light he brought into the world while strengthening the support network for the community that shaped me.

Every mile I run will be a tribute to him and a step toward making mental health support accessible to everyone in Cornwall. Your donations go directly to Cornwall Mind, helping them continue the incredible work they do locally.
