At Bemorefab Children’s Cancer Charity, our mission is to support children, families and schools through the challenges of childhood cancer. No child should feel alone, and we are here to offer comfort, education, and practical help. We work closely with schools to explain cancer in a child-friendly way, helping classmates and teachers understand what a diagnosis means. We also support children undergoing treatment by helping them with online tuition, this helps children stay connected to learning during treatment. It offers flexible, one-to-one support that fits around hospital stays and low-energy days. More than just schoolwork, it brings routine, confidence, and a sense of normality. It ensures children don’t fall behind and feel supported every step of the way. Our outreach goes beyond families—we raise awareness in the wider community through campaigns and events. We highlight the importance of joining the bone marrow register, giving blood, and considering organ donation—lifesaving actions for children in treatment. We visit sixth forms and universities to inspire young people to become donors and make a difference. Every action counts. Through kindness, understanding, and practical support, we aim to make the hardest days a little easier and ensure no child or family faces cancer alone.

Story

Andy Bark (Florence's Dad) along with some of his friends and family are walking from Corby to Sheffield to raise money for Bemorefab Children's Cancer Charity.

Bemorefab Children's Cancer Charity is a newly formed cancer education charity that supports children, families and schools through the struggles of cancer.

Sheffield is the hospital that Florrie attends for treatment so we thought that it would be apt to make that the end destination of our first official fundraiser.

Florrie would love to take part in some way in this fundraiser so we will be carrying the weight of her (just over 20kg) on our journey and then she will join us for the last mile where we will carry her instead!

We will leave at around 5.00am on Friday 9th August, we will then walk over 37 miles on the first day and arrive in Bingham.

The next day we will walk from Bingham to Barlborough, which will be an additional 31 miles.

This will mean on Sunday 11th August we will set off in the morning from Barlborough and finish at Hillsborough, Sheffield Wednesday's football ground, in time for their kick off at 4.00pm against Plymouth.

Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to support and promote the event on their matchday.

People walking for the full three days:

Andy Bark

Craig Woolmer

WIlliam Dunn

Callum Noble

Stephen Gribbin

Aiden Smith

Neil Cochrane

At different points across the three days we will be joined and supported by lots of different friends and family.
