My name is Paul Liell from Fairwater Garage and we are raising money for Alzheimers Research UK. Alzheimers Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure.

In 2019 over 850,000 people aged 65 and over in the UK had dementia and by 2040, there will be over 1.5 million people with dementia in the UK. 5 in every 100 people with Alzheimer's disease are under 65.

A friend of mine has just received this terrible diagnosis and not only has it had a massive impact on them but also on all those close to them. Many of you will know someone who is also suffering.

My wife Claire and her friend Richard Thomas are running the London Marathon in April 2024 and we are looking to raise as much money as possible to support Alzheimers Research UK for a cure.
