I became an ambassador to this great organization because I believe (just like you, I am sure) that all women should be able to run outdoors freely and safely. Unfortunately, this is not the case for so many women in some areas of the world due to cultural and/or ongoing military conflicts.

Free to Run’s mission is to advance gender equity globally through running.

They do this by providing leadership and wellbeing programs, in conjunction with running experiences, for adolescent girls and young women in conflict areas like Iraq and Afghanistan. Free to Run participants are typically refugees, internally displaced people, and those who identify as ethnic minorities. Just imagine how much stress they endure every day without being able to let it all out. I feel that I click the refresh button after every run or swim.

The end goal is a shift in gender equality with a specific focus on the expansion of access to public space, and leadership opportunities for young women. That's the end goal, and it's not an easy one. In the meantime, with Free to Run, you will quickly empower young women with confidence and simply make them feel great because they deserve it, just like all of us.
