Hike Ben Nevis, Scotland · 25 May 2024

Salam Charity was founded in 2011 with the aim to help fight poverty and transform lives. Every night over 800 million people go hungry and nearly 6 million children die each year from preventable diseases. Salam Charity aims to tackle this by providing lifesaving meals, clean water, sanitation, clothing and education. This will allow everyone to realise their birthright of living a happy life by developing their full potential. Salam Charity works in many countries around the world with a particular emphasis on the Rohingya emergency crisis. Salam Charity has a five year strategic plan which will focus on bringing a positive and lasting change in the lives of those affected by poverty. Our aim is to empower people for them to be in charge of their own destinies. We endeavour to support households, local communities and national institutions to develop longer term collective approaches to reinforce their capacities to better respond to, mitigate and prevent humanitarian emergencies and hunger crises. Supported by global celebrities, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and social media influencers, We have one important mission: to save and change lives for the better. We will do what it takes to bring humanity closer to a world free from hunger and poverty.

Story

I am embarking on a personal trek to conquer Ben Nevis, the tallest peak in the UK, on May 25, 2024. This challenge is not just about personal achievement; it's about making a real difference for those in need all around the world. Salam Charity deliver aid without discrimination, sending teams into emergency situations to deliver supplies and serve food. I am aiming to raise at least £1,000 to support their vital aid relief projects.

The summit is 1,345 metres (4,413 ft) above sea level and is the highest land in any direction for 739 kilometres (459 miles). Every step I take on Ben Nevis will be encouraged by the knowledge that we're raising much needed funds to deliver essential supplies like food, water, and medicine for families all around the world struggling to survive.

Your generous contribution will help provide emergency shelter and long-term support, offering hope and empowering communities to recover. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Together, let's conquer a mountain and make a world of difference.
