Our Challenge
On 16th August 2026, nine members of North Lincolnshire Council Adults and Health/Housing, Rehabilitation, and Recovery team will be trading the safety of our desks for a 15,000ft leap of faith! We are taking to the skies at Skydive Hibaldstow to support a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts: The Forge Project.
Why We Are Jumping
In our daily work, we see firsthand the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness or in need of recovery support. We know that behind every statistic is a person who deserves an "opportunity for change."
The Forge Project is a vital local lifeline. They provide more than just a warm meal and a safe space; they offer the support, guidance, and dignity needed for people to rebuild their lives. As a team, we want to go above and beyond our professional roles to ensure this essential service can continue its incredible work in our community.
Our Goal: £5,000
We have set ourselves an ambitious target of £5,000. Every penny raised will go directly to The Forge Project to fund their day-to-one support services, hot meals, and recovery programs.
Meet the Jumpers:
Rachel says ‘I head up the NLC housing team and am so excited to be doing my second charity sky dive, this time jumping with some of my amazing friends and colleagues, raising funds for our close friends at the forge. Together we are committed to working in partnership and ‘changing lives, changing futures’.
Beks says ‘The Forge supports people from all walks of life that all have one thing in common, they have nowhere safe that they can call home. I've come close to being made homeless a couple of times through no fault of my own, and I'll never take for granted that I've managed to avoid it. It's a scary experience, so what an amazing way to raise money for this incredible and much needed place, by being launched out of a plane and experiencing my greatest fear, falling from heights. The fear I will experience will be short-lived compared to what people go through when facing homelessness, but I hope we can make a difference to their lives.’
Trudi say ‘I am throwing myself out of a plane at 15,000 feet to support the forge and people who are needing our support around homelessness to make a difference. That difference is something that makes me happy knowing that we all have been able to support with making people's life's that bit easier.’
Lisa says ‘I’ve always wanted to Sky Dive. Turns out I just needed a good excuse and a good push! I’m falling for a good cause - please catch me with a donation’.
Wendy says ‘I wear my heart on my sleeve, care deeply about others, and—despite being absolutely terrified of heights—I'm throwing myself out of a plane with a big heart and a sense of humour to help make a difference to those who are faced with daily challenges.”
Mia says ‘I may be small and a little scared, but I’m excited to take this leap to support those without a safe place to call home, because everyone deserves hope’
Paula says ‘I am really excited to be joining colleagues from my new work family on this adventure! I’m pretty sure I will need to be pushed rather than jump, but it is for a fantastic cause, and every penny counts, so please donate if you can.’
Sabina says ‘I’ve always wanted to throw myself out of a plane, and this seems like a fantastic cause to do it for! I’m not a great flyer, so hopefully this will help 😆 we’re all more likely to be homeless than be millionaires, so any support we can give to people that just need a break, is needed’
How You Can Help
Whether it’s the price of a coffee or a larger sponsorship, your donation makes a massive difference.
• £10 could provide a hot meal and a shower for someone in need.
• £50 could fund an intensive support session to help someone access permanent housing.
• £100 helps keep the doors open and the lights on for those with nowhere else to go.
Please donate what you can and help us hit our target! We are nervous, we are excited, but most importantly, we are ready to fall for The Forge.
Thank you for your support!
